  We were told upfront that our insurance would be accepted and that they were an in service provider for our insurance. We were given an amount to pay and paid upfront. Two weeks after the procedure we were sent another bill and were told by our insurance that this office wasn’t in network and that we were on the hook for the remainder. The insurance didn’t even cover half of the cost. When asked about why we were told they were in network this office stated it was a miscommunication and that they only provide estimates. Granted we could have verified before the surgery but we definitely feel the responsibility of providing a reasonably accurate estimate is on the dentist’s office. I wouldn’t call an error of over $900 a reasonable estimate. I will not be going back and encourage anyone reading this to do their homework before signing anything her office provides. Definitely make sure your insurance covers what the dentists office says it does independently. Dr. McCauley’s office can’t be expected to provide accurate information. Lesson learned.
